DIY Charcoal Face Mask Steps
Start by opening up your pores. This will definitely remove all the hard to reach gunk as well as make it easier if not less painful to remove the blackheads. You can do so by either taking a warm shower, bath or by putting a warm towel on your face for a few minutes.
Mix all the ingredients together. You can adjust the consistency of the mask according to your preference but it should essentially be a goopy, lumpy mix.
Whilst applying the mask, try to use a spare, non-fancy brush since the mixture might end up staining it. Make sure it’s not too watery so that the mask doesn’t drip off your face and stain your clothes with the charcoal. If you aren’t planning on a hair-wash after applying the mask it is best advised to not apply it near your hairline. Also make sure that you don’t apply it on your eyebrows if you plan to peel off the mask. From DIY charcoal face mask to eyebrow tragedy in a flash. You don’t want to lose any of that!
Let the mixture dry off for 2o mins before peeling. You will know when it dries off completely by feeling your skin starting to tighten. You will be able to see the difference and the blackheads and other gunk the mask will pluck out! If some bits are trickier to remove you can also always wipe it off with a spare wet cloth or rinse your face with warm water. Sometimes there is a bit of redness post usage but that’s normal and should fade away by itself in time. You can also soothe your skin with argan oil.
