tasseled-yoke

For the longest part of 2016, it seems like everyone in the fashion arena has been obsessed with pom-poms. First came the tassels and then the pom-poms. However, it seems like tassels are back for round two with an all new version 2.0 – Tasseled Yokes!

From seeing oversized and animated pom-poms on everyone and everyone – earrings to exaggerated denim jackets and even boho inspired summer gladiator sandals! The new trend of the season dictates delicate bundled decorations hanging off the yoke area. ICYDK, yokes are the part of the garments that fit and accentuate around the neck and shoulder.

The yoke scene started gaining steam in the last 3 to 4 years when denim shirts with colourful and creative yokes started appearing. The tassel was no stranger to popularity with it being the IT go-to accessory for fashion mavens when it came to jazzing up their keychain bag. Since then, someone we can only refer to as a saviour, brought the two together and gave us what we now call tasseled yokes. Think peasant blouses, meets bohemian chic meets cool girl style.

One of our very own power bloggers, Juhi Godambe owns it with a tasseled yoke number in an Arabella dress, the bloggers own creation. The purple dress against the bright yellow cheery tassels provides the perfect contrast and emulates that quintessential gypsy boho style.

Dad knows I love my candids 😛 #CoffeeRun #Always

Even ace designer and fashion veteran Anita Dongre got in on the tasseled yoke fun with a fun blouse from her Grassroot label.

The style is the perfect way to spice up and add a little bit of pep to that coveted boho style. It also adds that little bit of detail and extra something to an otherwise basic outfit. Needless to say, we love it.

Tasseled yokes? Tassel yeeessss!
